Title: Autumn, lost and found
Post by: David Paterson on March 09, 2020, 09:01:33
In 2019 I spent two or three days with a friend, photographing the autumn colours. My entire shoot was on one 64gb card which I later offloaded from the camera, and never saw again. Until a  couple of days ago, when it suddenly re-appeared.

Some early results are attached - I haven't had time to look at everything yet. All these. except one, were taken in the Scottish countryside around Killin.

David, David, David, you make want to go to Scotland again.
Wonderful pictures, as usual.

Glad to hear from you and see your images, Dave!

I like #1 showing trees of different colors and characteristics.

#2 is easily my favorite.  Beautiful light!

I also like #4.  The rhythmic feel the trees make together would be one of my favorite aspect of your style.

Beautiful, David. It makes me want to visit Scotland asap again. The landscape is amazing all year around. #2 is also my favourite. Perfect lighting and wonderful composition.

They are all wonderful, and yes, I do want to return to Scotland.

So glad you discovered your lost card and were able to share its treasures with us.

Many thanks, all, for your appreciative comments. I've been away from photography for a while again, and it is very nice to come  back to such welcoming words.

Frank  - yes, stress-free, please. I'm totally stressed out just now, after being charged with a criminal offence because the police told lies, then the public prosecutor twice broke promises not to bring the matter to court.  This has been dragging on for two months,  but finally reached a climax last week when the prosecutor stated in court that no crime had  been committed so there was no case for me to answer. But by that time I was a nervous wreck.

Dave, Gosh, what a hit of fate and injustice. Does god want to test how strong you still are? Go, sit by the Loch, enjoy the morning sun of early spring. Meditate, kiss your wonderful wife Maumi and let it all fall off. BREATHE and feel life flow in and out!

Dave, I'm totally puzzled by what might have happened to you.  I strongly hope everything is all right now...

Akira  - it was a car accident last September. It took until last week for the police and public prosecutor to agree that it was a "pure" accident, and that no-one was to blame. Previously they were pretty determined to hang all the blame round my neck, and I was charged with "dangerous driving" - a very serious, criminal offence in the UK. If it had actually gone for trial and I had been found guilty, I could easily have been sent to prison. The max. penalty if found guilty of "d.d." is an unlimited fine, and/or an unlimited period disqualified from driving, and/or up to 14 years in prison.

The only good thing about the whole sorry saga is that there were no injuries (but a lot of damage to property - cars and "street furniture").

Dave, thank you for disclosing such an unpleasant incident.  It's a big relief that there were only damages of things money could buy...

Sorry about the incident.

Yet again another wonderful set of images. You captured magic. That memory card was dying to put her secrets out in the world  :)

  Thanks for sharing

Thank you, Paco, also Akira and Fons (nice one!  When I lived in Edinburgh - most of 1962 to '83 - I used to go regularly to see/listen to Aly Bain)
