It has a long lever to activate the aperture. You might try taking off the ring and see if it is bent or caught. I converted mine with the appropriate AI ring and it was quite simple.

Will go to Copenhagen some time next year.

I may try but not tinker, need a japan tool set first.
Thanks for the responsees.

Let's see pictures of the lens aperture Fons, fully open and then for each aperture as you stop it down,,,
Remember many Ai lenses are not linear like Ais lenses are, so if you use the aperture wheel on the camera instead of the aperture ring on the lens, this can happen,,, ;)

Thank you Erik.
Aperture 5.6 seems normal, f8 is half the size, f11 shows but a pinhole, smaller settings one sees through the blades at the side. There's some slight bruising on one of the blades.
I will take some pictures of the different aperture settings.
The lens is not chipped how can there be aperture control on the camera but by clicking the aperture ring on the lens.

For my part it was a matter of ruling out various fault causes ;) Could easily have been Dandelion chipped 8)

Apertures seems to have returned to what they should be this morning, strange?!

There seems to be some damage on one of the blades maybe this causes friction and halt the blades from normal functioning at times. The light blobs are from pointing a flashlight into the barrel.

Not the best shot but at f16 to show the apertures seem to be working again ???
