Just in case, I have not the complete one (Canon EOS unfortunately), but quite a few pages how to assemble/disassemble it.
Find it attached here .... and yes, I accept donations ;)

Thank you Klaus! Interesting to see the drawings after so many years ;) Much appreciated!
Well it's never too late, so future DIY can be prepared before they open the lens up!
Weak spot No1 Is the part page 4, #76
with the three little brackets for the three screws #77
They often loosen and they basically hold the front and rear together, the design is way to tiny and flimsy for such a big heavy lens.
Page 3, screws #59 as well as #49 can work loose
#14 with the three screws #13 are infinity focus setting
#71 is the unit that can be exchanged for the different types of mounts, Canon, Nikon etc.

Eric, you did the screw replacement for Birna. Are you willing to do it for others for a fee?

Thanks a lot Erik, for sharing your detailed experience!!

You are most welcome Klaus!
Sure Bill, I can help out, but if it’s not broken don’t fix it ::)
Preventing by being a bit careful is the best ;)
I’m located in Denmark EU just so you know, custom change etc.

Thanks, Eric. It's not broken yet. I'm being careful, but accidents do happen now and then. The lens is so good and so expensive that the costs of repair, shipping, and customs would be worth it.

Let me know if you encounter any issues with the lens Bill, but until there is an problem I would definitely leave it as is.

Mine is essentially mint--looks like it was never used (for Nikon) but I thank you in case things start to wobble at some point...
-
Most welcome all! I hope mine never show any of those mentioned issues, but I don't use them that often...
-
Thanks a lot for sharing, Klaus. I hope I’ll never need it but it is nice to have it anyway.

Actually, mine is blocked between 0.42 and 0.43 (red indexing), so no more infinity... :-[
Eric, I sent you a PM ! ;)
