Amazing job, Rick!  The ability to make such a sensitive part is just awesome!

Thanks, i don't think I can make the ones for automatic iris. I will need a press for that :o :o :o
the shape has to be maintained which is very hard when doing it with a hammer. ::)

i had to sacrifice. it is the MIOJ nikkor-Q, it's a very rare lens and very sexy like Kuroki Kaoru ::)

Wow, good job!
What is a 10.5/4 MIOJ Nikkor-Q ??
I know of the Nikkor-T 10.5cm/4, but that lens has 9 aperture blades, not 8 like the one shown here :o

Rick, could you share an image of the finished lens with the aperture stopped down by one stop or so?

Very good tutorial! It may well help me design or construct (I can only hope) an iris mechanism for an x-ray system lens I recently acquired.
