And I just think about selling mine...
Wonderful photos, Aguinaldo!
If someone needs a 2/200VR1 please PM me with a price you would like to pay. I just had it checked and cleaned and a new AF motor built in by Nikon Professional Service. It is as good as new now

Thank you for the comments guys.
I forgot to mention I took these with a Z6.
Frank, if don’t need the money don’t sell it. Certainly you’ll regret if you do it.
-
as sharp and colour vibrant as Mongo would expect of the lens and the photographer

Thank you Mongo.
I miss your pics here.

Agreed with all the above Aguinaldo. It looks like you and the lens had both a great time together :)

Gracias Paco!
I’ve visited every inch of that botanical garden, but it is always different everytime I go there. Also, the mornings I spend there is a kind of mental relaxation for me.

Shows what the lens and a good photographer can do ! Super ;)

A 200/2 is mandatory for a keen Nikonista ...
Do keep it, Frank. You'll regret selling off, guaranteed.
Thus speaks Birna, who just decided to leave her own 200/2 home for the upcoming Scotland trip, due to weight limitations. However it will accompany her on domestic trips by car later this year.

I wonder if Nikon will ever replace the AF 180/2.8 ED with an improved model? This is one of the oldest AF lenses in the current lineup, optics date back to the end of 1994 when the first AF Nikkors were introduced. Surely there is a space in the market between the 200/2 and 70-200/2.8 for a smaller and cheaper alternative?
Lovely set of images ...

Aguinaldo, these are lovely images!

Yes, but if they introduce a rational alternative, the irrational becomes very difficult to sell.
There is the 70-200/4 that is a reasonable alternative, though, if you can work with the f/4 maximum aperture. The AF isn't as fast as with the f/2.8 zooms, and it isn't as sharp or flare-resistant as the latest 70-200/2.8 FL but the f/4 produces images with a pleasing look and the lens is reasonably compact and lightweight.
I would like to see an AF-S 135/2 and AF-S 180/2.8 but I think Nikon believe that most people will want to use a zoom in this focal range.
