Oncostele Wildcat 'Golden Red Star' VIS-UV
Sometimes I'm really in awe about this so wonderfully sharp lens, the UV-Nikkor 105mm...
-
What a beauty, that lens.

I concur. The UV-Nikkor 105 is the embodiment of what a high-quality lens is all about. Well built to last, incredibly sharp, just a reliable item in your tool box. My oldest one of them has been in regular use for over 30 years and still does its job perfectly.
Very nice comparison, by the way.

Thank you! Indeed a wonderful lens, made to last and function well for decades. Have three....

You lead me by 1 :D

I was warned by your experience rolling down a hill and crashing one... ;-)
Btw. if you ever need a replacement rubber, I was lucky to find a few...

Klaus, this is a stunning reminder of UV105!

Yes indeed Akira, the RAYFACT UV105, made by Nikon TOCHIGI and sold through DAITRON is basically the same lens, reborn.
Identical performance!

Impressive indeed, Dr Klaus.

Oh, this is just a friendly hint, same setup, same plant, but using a different (new) UV filter:

Left is Baader-U Venus filter (my work-horse), right the Optolong Venus filter (chinese) with some rather prominent NIR leakage...
-
Filter warning duly noted. Thanks.
Apart from the obvious contamination from IR, there appears to be some central flare as well.

And here some multispectral "stuff"...
