Now this is the older sister of the Lyman-Apha II f1.1/90mm lens I have shown here before.
Today about the Lyman-Alpha I Experimental f2.8/200mm mirror lens, which is much more "tamed"
than its funky sister, but still it allows for some "impressionistic" work:

I assume the 200 illuminates a large image circle too.
I assume the f1.1/90mm was designed for an image amplification system, hence its f1.1
speed. Usually they had (at that time) up to 25mm diameter; I measured about 32mm.
The 2.8/200mm was made for up to 43mm image diameter, i.e. FF so your assumption
is very correct Birna!!

Looks like it is capable of producing instant water color painting looking images ;D Wow quite impressive!

much better. more photographic. less nervous in the center of interest. very capable lens in my eyes.

PS: As the lenses are mirror only optics they should be perfect for UV work. did you try UV?

That's why I originally bought them Frank. Just did a few UV shots today, will post some later here...
[Lyman Alpha is the 121nm deep UV Hydrogen emission line, those lenses were made to record that deep...]

Lack of CA is quite evident...

very nice. High transmission? I guess you get much shorter exposure times than you would with a glass lens?

Data states 85-88% transmission for the 190-400nm UV region, not bad at all. But not to forget, there is the
central obstruction which costs quite a bit of light....

Congratulations Klaus, looks very industrial!
Looking forward to images, there should be possibility to capture that cross mirror bracing in some highlights ;D
