I bought a Wu-1a for my Df. I took 5-10 minutts to transfer a jpg in orginal size. If it worked at all. But when I turned off bluethooth on my iPhone 6s it worked perfectly. (IOS 9.1  and 12). In setting somewhere wifi and bluethooth seemed to have the same adress. Maybe that is the explanation.

The general recommendation of using a card reader still stands...
