V1
18.5 f1.8
Pano ... and then cropped to 8x10 ::)
Autofocus... so some areas do not have the focus where I would have wanted it

It's a nice one, but I would cut the upper third, to remove the leaves and sky. That way the viewer's focus will be more on the spectacular roots.

Snakes on the ground feeding a magic tree.

This lacks the drama to hold my attention. Crop to just above the roots of the background tree ... then darken and contrast up the image (and see what happens ... :) )
-
Thanks for the comments
Let's see, take #2, now with increased contrast

Armando, I prefer the crop but thinking somewhere in between on the contrast. I like the detail in the orig. and the drama of the crop :)
Cheers,
Tom

I prefer the first posted image. It places the roots in context for me, the cropped version looks amputated.
well it IS amputated
:P :P :P
-
Amputation = Drama.

Gary - noooooooooo
I believe the amputation should have been on the level where ground hits grass so only the roots are visible.
But of course you boys will disagree ;D
(you DO know woman are always right - don't you.... ) :-*

Actually, I was thinking slightly below the top of that little wall, which would provide a bit of a black frame.
As to your second point, Yes Ma'am ... what you said Miss Elsa.
