Title: 70-200VR-g1 and 70-200VR-g2 hood compatibility

Sorry for making a thread about something so simple.
can anybody please confirm if the hood of the g2 will work on the g1? I currently have an old and cracked hood from my g2 that I would like to re-purpose for a project  :o :o :o
