Looks like an excellent combination of filter and lens alike.

well now that i found that the 16-35/4G is IR capable i can't help using it (after a friend let me try it)... but i feel that the 17-35/2.8D is a better lens.. both require significant distortion correction at the widest angle..

if you know of something wider with filter threads that is IR capable please let me know.

Bob, I have and use (for IR) both the 18-35 and the 18-105 (DX), although I do believe the 17-35 would be a better lens but not sure it would show at this resolution?
