+1,  yes definitely.  Even better viewed large.

Which city was the image taken Armando?

Excellent capture!  What a character!

A very nice shot. When you are doing street photography, do you shoot from the hip or do you look through the viewfinder? The angle of the shot would seem to indicate it was taken from the hip. If so, with a non-autofocus lens, it is doubly amazing it came out so well.

Arthur, Hugh, Akira, thanks for commenting

This was shot in Guadalajara Mexico

Yes shot from the hip, sometimes I'll bring the camera  to my eye

I set the camera in manual, 1/250 F/8, focus at 3m or so, this gives a very large Dof, fom about 2m to infinite, it's a lot easier to set on a lens with focus and dof scale, ISO is in automatic

The original is tilted, after straightening the corners were filled in Ps

Shot quite a few and I only liked this image, other times I get zero images, but it's fun

The low angle, shooting from the hip, works really well in this shot.  A low angle or sometimes intentionally tilting the camera can add a dynamic tension that otherwise would be missing.  I like how the mannequins seem to be spying on him from the shadows.  Add in his attitude and some excellent B&W processing, and this becomes a really unique and cool street shot.  Great stuff!

Was the subject aware that you were taking his picture - i.e. were you operating in "stealth" mode?

Character captured in front of "quinto poder". Mannequins add yet another layer. Love the body language.

Paco, thank you for the comment.  I didn't realize that "Quinto Poder" was the Spanish title for the movie "The Fifth Estate" which should make the image even more interesting!

Peter thanks for commenting

Timing is much simpler with the gangster technique (as called by Eric), the camera is pointed in the general direction of what I´m looking at and I just press the shooter when something interesting happens
