Thank you for looking.

Thanks for posting.  Mono images from Yellowstone seem rare these days. May I ask what focal length lens was used?

Thanks for asking.
This was taken with a D80 and a 24-70mm f/2.8G @24mm. So the focal length is equivalent to 36mm.

Hi Aguinaldo.

Nice shot and nice conversion. I will have to revisit some of my Yellowstone pics and convert them to b&w. It is a truly amazing place.

The shot has an apocalyptic feel to it. What is it geologically?

Thank you Jim and Frank for the comment.
Frank, it is a hot water discharge place. Yellowstone is indeed on top of a volcano.

I guessed it looks like being from volcanic origin. Thank you for the explanation.

As Keith mentions, a B&W image of Yellowstone is not common.  It is an interesting idea and the execution is fantastic!

Cinematography is the first thought I had. It really looks like a set for a movie.
Whether it is a western, science fiction, thriller, fantasy, etc. genre - it fits all!
Well done!

Mongo really likes the composition, proportions and tones in this image. It generates a certain atmosphere about it - ominous and dark foreboding. Great stuff as always from you.
