Pisa is better known for other things, but near to it, especially on the coast, there are beautiful nature reserves.
I have spent some time there during my Easter visit to my parents.
The main attraction is San Rossore nature reserve, formerly a royal hunting estate. This is really close to town, easily reached by bycicle. Open on weekends and bank holidays, mainly.
There is also a coastal lake rich in birds, called Lago di Massaciuccoli, where it is possible to visit public bird hides.
1. Faded memories of the Kingdom
2. Shy fallow deer under the pine trees
3. Hygrophilic forest
4. Great crested grebe at Massaciuccoli
5. The Apuan Alps from Massaciuccoli (not real Alps! this is where Carrara marble is quarried)
6. Cormorants
7-9. Ducklings

Very nice look into the nature reserve Simone.
I especially like #3, the moss covered tree trunk!

More interesting than that tower.

Nice Simone sometimes when we take some short of vacation we see things in a -simple- different way

Thank you both.
Pisa is my hometown and San Rossore not only is a nice place but also is associated with fond memories from all ages of my life.
