Title: FYI: Laowa 15mm f/4 & Opteka 15mm f/4 are the same.

I just got one and they are the same. The Opteka is much cheaper but lacks the shift adjustment knob/lever.  It is amazingly sharp for a lens you can find on eBay for $70.  Thee is possibly lowered contrast but that what post processing is for.

It appears to possess the image image circle to tilt quite far! I am thinking about modifying it with my 3d printer to give it tilt. Has anyone opened one of these up before?

No, they are not the same. The Opteka is a clone of the Laowa 15mm f/4.

The 15 and 60mm Laowas have been cloned here and there, they are going to be updated some time in the future anyway.
