Stunning images, creative use of light. §1 is my favourite, a most unusual and striking composition.

Simply superb. Where to begin? Where to end?
You capture the emotional content of the moment that is all you can do, the best you can ever do as a photographer
-
Well...whoa...very well done Gary!
The #7 made my day :)
-
Fortunately you didn't post this in the critique section!
N. 3 and 5 stand out for me. The harpist is also filled with emotion.
It is great to have you here as one additional source of inspiration.
-
(Señor se volo la barda!!!) ... Fantastic series, every shot is great !
Seems you were able to move freely
the shot of the harp, is it manually focused (focus peak?), or focus recompose ... I really like it

Thank you Armando. Yes, I can move around the stage. I shoot the dress rehearsal. The drama teacher likes me poking the camera into the faces of the performers. She feels that this makes opening night night easier for the kids, if they can performed with this bearded ol' fart sticking a camera into their noses ... then opening night will be much easier. And ... free access gets me more interesting photos. The harpist was recomposed.

Lo que es "barda" en Ingles?
-
Fortunately, yes. It would be hard for me to criticize...
-
a wonderful series
for sure they´re looking more exotic because you got perspectives normally one can´t get,
but no doubt about your professionality to deal with light, movements and expressions
-
Gary dear......
my oh my they are nice.
-
The photographer as sparring partner for the performers ... haha
clearly a win win
-
Lo que es "barda" en Ingles?
"barda" means fence
"se volo la barda" It's like saying like this is a home run , hitting the ball and it goes beyond the fence

I've been getting volunteered at Whitney HS for years now. In all that time I've only managed to interfered with a performer once. I was getting this shot and the dancer jumps up and starts running backwards.

Great photos Gary, i would be very proud too have a set like this. I have an XT1 but so far have not used it in that sought of light.
There is something special about their lenses.

Thank you bendle. I've always thought of Fuji as a crafter of lenses first and a camera maker second. I love their lenses. On Fujinon's worst day, the lenses are at least equal to 'L' lenses.

Magnificient series. You have a good eye for the performing arts! I have a really soft spot for dance, so I pick #6.
But they are all worth a look.

Ashamed of missing the thread. You captured most beautiful moments of the performers. #5 stands out to me.
-
Very nice indeed!
I love the tight crops and up close, so that also makes me not understand that some of the shots has a lot off floor showing? espc the wide fish shots... I don't like the floor that much... :o

Great series, Gary. #6 and #10 are my favorites. So the XT1 is great in Low Light without noise?

I shoot a lot of low light, wide-open or nearly wide-open, ISO 1600 to ISO 6400 stuff. Yes, for an APS-C sensor, Fuji performs exceptionally well in low light. I doubt if the low light performance of the Fuji APS-C can match the performance of a FF Nikon sensor, but the IQ difference between the APS-C and FF is not significant to me. In other words ... The IQ difference between a Fuji APS-C and a FF sensor is not significant enough to determine/increase/decrease the success of an image, based upon what I shoot and how I shoot. (mainly photojournalism type stuff).
