I am interested in engineering design drawings which show all physical and optical dimensions of Nikon lenses. For example: for “PC-E Micro NIKKOR 85mm f/2.8D”. Nikon published documentation on EL type lenses provides such drawings. The patents appear to be revealing more generic information rather than the design of a particular lens. An advice on sources of such information would be very much appreciated.

Now that I call a log shot...why in the world should they publish this?? Took me years to find one once....
Sometimes Service Manuals contain such drawings. Maybe ask Nikon about it??

What is it for?
Impossible to find unless someone leaks them.
Yes - The service / repair manuals have usually a sectional drawing with major dimension,,, and several exploded views
Mir.com has some more drawings,,,

And the drawings from the patent filings ? Not detailed enough ?
