Title: Hello from Scotland
Post by: ianbiggar on January 16, 2018, 15:22:56
Hi,
My name is Ian Biggar and I’ve been a Nikon user since 1972. Worked as a professional, at first in Canada then in Scotland when I came home in 1992. Now retired from professional work and just take photos of what I like to take photos of.
Will no doubt have a few questions now I can play around (anyone know of a tripod Collar for a 180mm f2.8 ) and hopefully find a similar number of answers!
Thanks,
Ian

Hello Ian, welcome to NG... :)
In another life I used to hike around Mallaig and with my wife, we did our honeymoon with a battered 2CV Citroën around most parts of Scotland, sleeping in remotes B&B in wonderful landscapes  :D

Hi Ian,

Welcome to NG!
I love to travel up to Scotland when I can, usually at least twice a year - head straight for the Highlands.
What did you use to do as a pro and what do you like to shoot these days?

Greetings from Cheshire
Simone

Thanks for the welcome.
Simone - I did mostly industrial, commercial and audio visual slide shows (many projectors - aaahhh, those were the days) - now I just like to follow the light and then suffer angst about what to do with all the images in my computor!
Next time you come to Scotland turn left after you cross the border and explore Dumfries and Galloway - makes for a nice change and a bit if an eye opener!!
Jacques - I still try and do the same travelling but in a rather rusty VW camper!
Eric - thank you.
Ian

Dear Ian,
It is great to have you.
I am one of the many here that are in love Scotland.
Such a photogenic place to visit. Looking forward to seeing your images.
