Title: Common loon with chick - doing foot waggle
Post by: Randy Stout on January 07, 2018, 16:13:41
This pair was imaged last summer in Northern Michigan.  The chick was ~ three days old, and taking a break from swimming.  The loons occasionally will stick one foot up in the air and waggle it around. No one knows for sure why (thermoregulation?)

D500 600VR  f/7.1  1/1000s  ISO 500

Advice and comments always appreciated.

Cheers

Randy
