Nice one Graham - very stately & majestic.

These creatures are not to be underestimated. I once put netting over my cabbages to keep pests off and the snails just used them as an escalator straight to the juicy leaves, then leaned through to munch!

Grahame:

Could you include some technical details about your 1st shot, both camera and any lighting or post processing?

Cool picture, with excellent detail.

Cheers

Thanks Grahame:

Now I just have to wait for the -10F temp and a foot of snow to go away, so I can find a snail or two!

Cheers

You can keep them inside - feed them on lettuce leaves - shoot them - and then eat them :)

It's still a very handsome snail. Do I see Rembrandt lighting? Anyway the lighting and the pose are great!

It's just above freezing point here and a snail has been wandering around the conservatory.
I haven't seen it yet, but there's a shiny trail going back & forward across the carpet, so it's obviously pretty active :(
