A test to see how image upload works.
Admins may delete the post if they wish.

First is linked to a photo located on my server:

The linked version has the advantage of putting comments/captions right with the file.

Exactly, that's why I wanted to see how linked images work. The first photo is located on the server that hosts my websites.
I always prefer to post images as attachments, but I would like to be able to place comments with the file.

The current hack is using CSS for resizing and avoiding the site-specific measures. Then at least linked images and attachments are treated on an equal footing and (re)sized the same.

I might tinker a bit further with the CSS settings, though, but leave them as is for a few days to gain more experience as to how the images are rendered.

But it is not possible to click on the photo to see it in its original size (1200 pixels).

Of course, just right-click the image, select View Image, and it will open the photo in the original size. Duh!

It seems that images are re-sized according to their height parameter, not width as would be more natural to make them fit on the page?
Images with vertical orientation thus get very small. (Experience with own posting of images).

Øivind, you are correct about the height constraint. I put it there because most monitors are overwide in their physical aspect and thus inherently handle portrait-mode images poorly. I, or our esteemed member Andrea, will experiment with these settings in the near future.

As discovered by many already, right-clicking takes you to the option of seeing the image in its original size.

In Firefox yes.

The right click doesn't work in IE as far as I can see...

Thanks for the clarification. In Chrome, right clicking will provide a menu which has a choice to open the image in a new tab.

Same in Safari, at least the hyperlinks show up properly resized now to fit the screen.

Also the attach images show up nicely now instead of the little preview pic, good work Admins :)
