I haven´t shoot dancers for a while. From today´s class. This are students from the 1st level of professional dance school.
105mm 1.4, 58mm 1.4 and 24-70 vr with nikon d500 and d750
1. Trying a new step
2. the teacher
3. Pas de deux
4. Close up
5. Another move
6. Floating people
I have to keep in "photo" shape. Nerve and reaction needs practice!
-
These are very lively images conveying the passion of the teacher and the dancers!

Hi golunvolo,
I like the light and dynamics in #6 :)
Saludos,
Mauricio
-
Paco, how I enjoy your dance images!
Thank you so much!

the series is interesting , I miss the strong feelings you are usually able to capture, perhaps because they are level 1 students
-
Thank you all for the comments,
Passion is a given, as in music for example, is necessary if you are going to go through it... capturing is the key here. Maybe they are students but more likely I´m out of tune and need some warm up. Passion, even if not refined, is there.
Light is coming from the back windows and I have to expose for the the fluorescent tubes in the ceiling. Not ideal but interesting sometimes I think.
Happy you guys like some!
P.S.: do I like that 105mm...

I admire these people, beeing able to make controlled movments above the ground :)
as well I admire your pictures.
I think the pictures show concentration and seriosity in training, they underline the common
opinion about a hard mental and physical training to become a dancer
-
You always give the feeling to be part of the action, I love that.
-
Very nice series, indeed, and i noticed you collected some impressive glass in the meantime ;)
-
I love the portrait of the woman with spreckles and the "flying circus"!!!
-
Thanks for your comments.
Dance is my passion and if I get to communicate some of its inner feelings and works, I´m more than happy.
Glass options is growing slowly but surely. I hope this tendency will continue. Different tools changes -expand- the rules of part of the game. I´m happy 8)
that brings me to the portrait. I put it up to continue our conversation about that lens magic rendering. 105mm @1.4, iso 1600 with d500. The class was very busy yet I get to isolate the subject.
Bjørn, if you ever update your list of "Best of the Best : A not-too-serious compilation of the best Nikkor lenses" my vote goes to this one to be added.

I love the serious expressions. They are really concentrating on their art.

Thanks Ron. They are a very good group of students.
