The South West section of the Peak District in Staffordshire is one of the three National Character Areas of the Park.
After many years of neglect, I have re-discovered it while cycling and have decided to photograph it more in the months to come.

Is this the Stannard ridge?

I think you mean Stanage Edge. (ridges in the Peak District are smooth on one side and on the other have a shallow escarpment, hence "Edge ").
No it's not, but good guess.
Stanage Edge is near Sheffield, in the North East. The northern part of the Peak District is called the Dark Peak due to the prevailing dark gritstone forming the typical Edges. The southern valleys are limestone and are called the White Peak. The SW corner though is gritstone like the northern part.
Wikipedia has a nice explanation of the geology of the Peak District.

#3 seems to have the best of the elements and perspective of this location.

All good, but I agree with Mongo about #3.
