Title: Lactarius indigo

A biologist friend invited me and another photographer friend to go to the woods to look for blue fungi ...

Since I never seen blue fungi I accepted, he said we were a bit late but still we found many

What lovely fungi — I had no idea there were blue fungi.
They certainly provided you with some most unusual photographs.

Are they edible or highly toxic?

Thanks Ann, I was told they are edible once cooked the right amount of time.

it reminds of byzantine blue...

Interesting species!

One of the pictures shown in Wiki is shot in Guadalajara.  It seems to be popular out there:
