Title: Norwegian lensbirdie
Post by: Birgit on August 23, 2017, 16:04:17
Hello, all, and thanks for having me (I almost didn't make it through the validation questions..!  8) ). I am an eager amateur photog, in the sense that I don't make any money out of it. I do however spend almost all my spare time thinking, planning, learning, doing photography. Have been with Nikon since 1989, currently sporting a Df and a backup D600 for busy shoots - typically concerts. I volunteer quite a bit, all photography related - everything from teaching teenagers, via managing the press group for a music festival, to being the vice president of the national society for amateur photography. Inbetween, I manage to find time to take pictures for my own pleasure; my chosen topics are urbex/rurex and landscape, mostly. I am currently coaxing myself into doing - and enjoying - portrait photography... we'll see what comes of that!

Velkommen. Vi behøver [mange] flere kvinner på slike nettsteder. (in Norwegian, if anyone wondered about the language)

Heartily welcome, don't hesitate to show our pictures or participate in discussions. Or both, of course :D

The validation process is meant to be "very difficult". At least, exceedingly few spammers get through these days.

Hey Birgit!

Often I ask myself: What comes out of such a forum?

After having met some of the people here more than once in real life and spent time with them indoors and outdoors it became friendship to some and aquaintance to others.

Special about this place is that there are some people who developed a unique way of expressing themselves with their cameras. That is inspiration for me.

I really try hard not to spend so much time here. I got a family, friends, a job and a lot of other projects to attend to, but: you know, once you are hooked to photography or to sharing and discussing photos and equipment know how, it sometimes is hard to limit yourself.

That is how good a place this is...

Warm welcome to another member from our founding father's country

Frank

Velkommen hjem!
The feel of this place can be summed up in one word: Friendly. We are a few norwegians here, but the strenght is the diversity of this community, with participants from all over the world. And the percentage of women are slowly increasing, wich is a good thing. Hope you find this a place of inspiration and good discussions.
