82mm filter thread! Should be a great lens, and this will complete their "Holy Trinity" lineup  :)
I think it will be better than Nikon's VR version, a lens I personally did not like.

Yay Tamron.

Sigma is also preparing one such lens ("Art" version). Wait and see. For the time being I am very happy with the old (non-VR) Nikon version, which is my standard lens for event shooting. I only resent its size.

According to the blog, Tamron is also about to take pre-orders of 18-400 zoom!

The current, soon-to-be 'previous' Tamron 24-70/2.8 delivers very respectable optical performance, in a cheaper-feeling package than the luxurious Nikon AF-S 24-70 zooms.  I hope this new one is at least as good.

The first and last DX lens I need for a crop body :) If I have one.
For everything else, I'll just use my FX glass  8)

YUS!
$1199, and their old one is now a whopping $100 cheaper! What could I get with $100, hmmmm? :o

Looking forward to tests and real world reviews. I don't fancy a 24-70, 28 prime is enough for all my needs in this range, would still love to see how Tamron works it out! Oh and if I ever decide to shill my work, I'll get one.
