The area under construction is to be all in white with a skylight at the top which is larger than my house (200sq meters). However now it is covered and filled with darkness and dank construction equipment. This was my reaction to that by mucking with the levels curve.
For a long time I have not had an attraction to the false colors of IR photography or the bold posterization that is often seen in Bjorn's work, but now I am seeing it as a reaction to the absence of light that must be present in those dimly lit places at the top of the world. If there is no color, we make it.

Hm. I did guess something like it. Better to hear from the creator. The panels at the lower level: are these glass or concrete?
Concerning low light levels I have seen a transformation of thought since I used the D5 with 100k ISO fairly usable: I take the shot and look at the display immediately afterwards to see "vision outperformed" leterally.

Frank,
The atrium is mostly steel, glass and gypsum board with grey terrazzo floor.
Right now it has every sort of building material exposed along with scaffolding and wooden planking. Looks a bit like a mine or dungeon, but should be clean and bright in a few weeks.

I wish I could have started my house already, but legal issues and design optimization delayed it. As long as it is finished Christmas 2018, it is OK

I am an architect.
That is what I concluded. Drop me a PN with your Email and I can show you the state of the project. Depending only on the building authority now, it has become a beauty in my eyes of a lay man. I start to move in the house and breathe

I'd like to see it too!

Jeck, I like the way you express your emotion towards what is (or is not) happening at that site.
I did a series of photos, many years back, trying to express my emotional response to my surroundings at the time. That was on large format Kodak T-Max film. Nowadays, with the power of editing raw recorded data, I think I would have come to a more expressive result back then. Interesting musings, all set in motion by your image.

I can realate to that. Easily. Instantly. Directly.
Very expressive. Structural room for thoughts.

I like it! Very graphic and vivid

I have miss this for a long time. I must confess I actually stop by and pass the image the first time without paying much attention. I´m enjoying it a lot today. I guess it takes the right time and frame of mind to really appreciate some work.
Thanks for sharing and good luck with the project!
