Title: D810 and K1,2,3,4,5 rings!
Post by: Gigas on May 30, 2017, 10:37:20
Hello, as a greenhorn on Nikon macro gear I like to ask if it is any problem with the set of rings K1-5 with my camera body? I have a set coming my way so it is a little bit late for my question.

There are no issues with the K-Ring set,,,

Just be very careful when you attach either K-1 or K-2. The close proximity to the contact points in the camera throat is a potential issue, but with attention and care these rings will mount fine. I've done so with K-rings and each and every Nikon ever owned by me, and that is a number I'd rather not consider too closely.

Thank you for your information about this issue! The K-3 ring will be used in the combination you Bjørn suggested with the to older 105mm lenses.

I have not had any issues with the K rings on a camera, but I would not mount a K-1 on a CPU equipped lens unless it's modified, because it hits the contacts.  I did a quick and dirty mod on mine with a Dremel.  Working freehand I got a little sloppy and hit a bayonet ear, but it works fine this way, and comfortably clears the lens.
