Title: The lion and a rhino

I also did a morning safari with my Denver client. This guy also did a 3 day trip in our Famous Kruger National Park - but he shared a game vehicle with 16 other people - and simply didn't get any photos that he was happy with. Traveling with a 70-200 in Kruger also just doesnt work.
Even though we did only one morning drive - he got SO MANY good images - and everything he wanted. I allowed hom to use my one D800 + Nikon 200-500  (his own D810 had the 70-200) to allow him to get what he needed. It's hard to travel with lots of gear - especially if you come on a business trip and have lots of other luggage.

I like these Elsa - especially the first one.  Those watchful eyes are a wee bit scary!

Has the Rhino been de-horned or is it a female?

Male and female rhino have horns - this rhino, and her mate, lost their horns as it was hacked off by poachers and they were left for dead. They were nursed back to good health by the owner of the reserve - he literally slept with them and took care of them - it's been more than 5 years now - and the one's wound still periodically opens up as he rubs it when it itches. That they made it was truly a miracle.

I particularly like the second from the top, it carries a very strong atmosphere with the predator relaxed yet alert.

I like the kind of "glowing" effect in #1 and 2 that makes the linonesses stand out.

My impression of numbers 1 & 2 is that the lioness is looking at you and your client as choices from today's menu. Nice work, Elsa.

Elsa, love the second image. I keep looking at it , trying to figure out just what the Lioness is doing/thinking.  Love the composition and processing.   Yup, a 70-200 is probably better suited for Indian Jungles where often a 400mm is way to much,
