Yes, he is SERIOUS!

The website:

I wonder if the Nordic folks here might know him?
-
I stopped reading the magazine he wrote for many years ago. However, you are correct, this person is what would pass for a true *nerd*.
-
Well, making a camera lens from scratch as DIY project is something unheard of to me. He doesn't only grind the lenses, but he apparently created the grinding machine himself. And the final product looks like something you can by at a retailer. That's admirably nerdy enough.
-
its fascinating and if thats what a nerd does - then I like nerds :)
-
Yeah right, far better than making arms.
-
Impressive!
Thanks for sharing the links

Very interesting. I enjoyed the video and poked at the website a bit. I'll have to have a better look at the website.
Thank You!

Folks, thanks for the comments!
Maybe I was impressed by how he masters all his tools, more than the resulted product.

Akira,
I find both aspects fascinating

Akira,
I find both aspects fascinating
Armando, the result is fascinating for sure, but his effort and the enthusiasm during process is a lot more than what we can watch on the video. The time and effort he spent to master these tools...it's overwhelming...
