it does look forlorn and destitute but on the bright side, it will not need much upkeep/feeding when eventually impounded. Sadly, there can be no doubt that its future is stuffed !

Thanks all for your sometimes humorous comments and additional observations (the kitchen cupboard door, which I did not even notice...).

I happened to have the Sigma mounted and decided I'd do street sweeping with that one, for a change. Looking down onto sth with a wide angle is usually not flattering, and works here. As for the plushie, it was in a very good condition, and meant for adoption I guess. Probably from a student moving out.
