For whatever reason, I like this image, Fons. The bicycle is nicely designed, too. It should go well with your black Les Paul, too. ;)

"A portrait from today. More and more amazed by ir photography. She was wearing dark sunglasses and her eyes are actually brown. "
A good reminder that dark Sunglasses/Netral density filters do not protect your eyes/camera against the sun, the IR part of the spectrum will still burn your eyes! Better get a proper solar filter for solar captures/observations.

Bill, this is nice. Sensitive and nice composition including the blurred flowers on the left.
-
All vascular plants have flowers. However, not every flower is conspicuous ....
Grasses are notoriously difficult to take good photos of for a number of reasons that become very evident once you try. A longer than normal lens, a large aperture, fast shutter speed, and directional light often are required steps to ensure the plant stands out against its background. The wild oats picture is a good example of successful grass photography.

Thank you to Akira, John, and Bjørn.
That shot was quite fortuitous. I was eating dinner and remembered I hadn't used this lens yet other than taking a few test shots, yet I'd mentioned owning it on another thread. I resolved to head out after dinner, quickly, to catch the last rays of the sun. The sun was getting very low and somewhat dim due to haze as I tried thistles and other flowers without being satisfied. I hurried along and had little hope of finding something new and interesting in what little light was left. Then I happened to notice a wild oat stalk, oriented just right to show off its beauty where I could see it. The soft lighting was wonderful, and I slightly reduced the natural warm effect to get the color balance I liked the most.
I went out this morning with the same lens, one which seems to make closeups so easy and rewarding. Again, many failures but a few successes...

The Snowbirds and Patrouille de France in the same place at the same time was always going to be great. The problem is temperature you can count on the fingers of one hand (three, count 'em, three degrees) and the less said about the ceiling the better. At least it was only *rain* all day and nothing genuinely solid. Full Snowbirds show - a few low passes from P de F. Grrrr...
