I don't know if possible, but a slightly  lower perspective might be an interesting option.  Yes it would flatten the upper pools even more, but might increase the sense of scale a bit.  Just a thought, and probably you tried a variety of perspectives at the time.

Thanks for sharing, nice to get away from the snow and freezing rain, if even for a few minutes.
