Bob - You wouldn't know which way to turn to shoot. Just too much here at the best of times.
And of course you are welcome!

One day a phoyographer will be born who has a better understanding of depth of field than you Elsa.

But I suspect the world will have to wait a long time...

To me, they are all beautiful!

Beautiful images Elsa!

A trip to SA is still on my list of things to do.  One day I hope to get there while I can still see and take pictures.

The second one is lovely, but all others are great landscapes with the accents unique to SA.

Peter - Thank you - to me it feels I know 5% have yet to learn the other 95%. Your comment is very kind.
Bill - you and me both  ;D
Thank you Akira and Armando. I appreciate you looking and commenting

Lovely series, second one stands out for me. I found it the most interesting graphically, point of view, character (s), body language and intention, horizontal natural view and subdvision. I feel I can relate to their attitude towards the scenery :)

Thank you Golunvolo - there is something in that one that attracted me too obviously. a Bum shot is sometimes just the best shot :)

Wow. It's wild animal butt day. I guess they weren't very cooperative (?).

Looks like a great place to visit and thank you for the nice images,

Beautiful pictures Elsa, the zebra is my favorite. If I had the dough, I would fly to SA tomorrow.
Was the 200-500 used?

ElSid, the 200-500 was only used with the Zebra - for the other 3 images I used my 24-70. I could have done with the 70-200 but didnt carry it with me on this occasion.
Buffalos - no cropping - (7360x4912)
Rhino  some cropping but not much (6141x4098)
Pajama Donkey - no cropping (7360x4912)
The elephant a pano which was a stitch from a whole lot of images. I think 6 or something like that - as we are printing a huge banner of that one for an expo.
And if I had the dough I would have flown you all in :)

What's that elephant doing in the middle of the road?  Nice one.

Elsa:

A lovely set.  I wasn't aware there was so much geographic variation in SA, which makes for more striking images than just open grasslands.  I love the intimate feel of #1, and the alignment of the buffalo with the notch in the mountains.

Cheers

Randy

Ron - this is the road one travels on with the Game vehicle. Of course I was on foot here.....

Randy - Thank you. You have NO idea how diverse South Africa is - never-mind the weather in Cape Town - 4 seasons in a day.
Cape Town has been rated one of the top cities in the world. (2015 I think it WAS the top one)

Netr - haha yes they do - and African Elephants are truly huge - especially if you stand right next to them

Thank you Michael :)

That reminds me of the old joke, where does the polar bear sleep?

While there is still a question about why the chicken crossed the road, there is no question about why the elephant did.

It did so because it felt like crossing the road. Very little stops 6 tons of determination, just ask anyone who has ever had to maintain a fence in a reserve where there are elephant...
