Stumbled on a classic.

Two more views of this beauty.

Carl:
One of the sexiest cars of all time. Is this one original? There have been so many copies over the years, and most people aren't brave enough to take a real 427 out on the road.
I noticed a Ferrari prancing horse emblem in the passengers footwell. That is a bit odd?

Yes. it's an original. I know there's a lot of copies out there, in fact a friend of mine has one, a 289 powered replica. As for the Ferrari logo, it's pretty dark down there on the floor, and it might well be a logo on a hat.
When it comes to taking a 427 on the road, I would in a heartbeat! 8) I did see the owner get in a drive off, I should have grabbed a shot of him. He was about twice my size, and I'm not small. I figured he was a football pro, as not too many young guys could afford that Cobra, and he could probably afford a Ferrari too.

Randy, I went back to the raw image and bumped up the exposure to open up that right side floor, and sure enough, that Ferrari logo is on hat.

Thanks Carl, for the update. Very interesting. I still have a copy of a car and driver new car buyers guide from 1966 or so, and the 427 cobra was listed in it. I haven't looked at it in at least 40 years, but remember thinking at the time, wow, $4700 for a new car!
I might be off slightly on the price then, but I think I am pretty close. Amazing. I should have gone into hock to stash one away.
Cheers
