Maybe it is too early, but almost without fail, the second week of February teases us with light and warmth.

Oh John, that is so gentle.
If there is a lens that I don't have and I would like to have, it has to be the 200/2.0!
-
Well, it's croci time. Intense color, contrast and light. Harald handed me a 55/2.8 micro. Love them lense and flowers.
-
Great Thomas. The 55/2.8 is a fine versatile lens and also good usable at distant scenes, very sharp ! The MF-version I presume?

Thomas - that's a very nice spring haircut :)

Living at higher latitudes means spring comes later. However, changes are underway and this weekend ice broke on the local rivers. That surely heralds better times to be imminent :D

Amelanchier lamarckii
-
An overview of some of the blooming Magnolia's this morning. ;)
The purple Magnolia (probably Magnolia liliiflora), that normally is later than the normal version (Magnolia x soulangeana) in the background. It is a sunny place and located to the south.
-
Nce Fritillaria, Fons. Don't see that species much over in my part of the world. The Amelanchier is another story and it now is on the national black-list of unwanted species. Meaning we do have it and a lot of those specimens are not where they should be; on the contrary, this small tree spreads actively and is about to become invasive.
-
Fritallaria i have planted years ago and am happy they return every year on my dry soil, since they prefer a better and more moist type soil, but i apply compost every year which works.
Amelanchier is a planted a lot in gardens and communal greens for being tolerant and easy growing.

Some amazing stuff on this thread.
Spring in the southern Highlands of Scotland is still an uncertain quantity (on 18th April). We had sleet and icy rain a couple of days ago, and there is fresh snow on the tops almost every morning. But a few signs are beginning to show.

Yah, it was a somehow coldish April this year. Leaf buds have quite slowly unfolded, showing delicate colors for a longer period of time.

Even if the calender is saying july, there is still spring in the mountains. This is how the ice at Tissedalsvatnet at about 1400 meters high looked today.

Very nice. What a contrast to the high summer greens here. Independent from that it's a nice ice shot. Like it.
