We are all Cyborgs? Yes, it seems so. The phone married a computer and connected us to all other people. It is so often that I look at pictures and ever single person is operating their phones.
But your picture has other dimensons too:
- the sun is on the brink to rise
- there is some kind of advanced bicycle park that raises my interest
- and we see, what I guess is a waste burning electricity producing power station?
All of that put into one of your wonderful compositions.
Thank you!

John, that`s a nice study in smartphone isolation. Love the light and the setting.
Very enjoyable on a Sunday morning.

Thanks Frank and Thomas.

John, I think this is an interesting and promising series.
But frankly speaking, the the change of the angle of view of this amount is a little bothering to me. The main figures are captured in varying sizes, and the angle of view is not constant enough to make this series an observation from the fixed viewpoint.
I wonder if I'm missing your intention?

It is nearly impossible to take a photo of a stranger in public who is not looking at their mobile phone, because that is what everyone is doing.

Thanks for commenting Akira and Ron.
Yes, everybody looks at a mobile phone that's nothing new, perhaps to avoid any social interaction? What struck me here is the use while walking after passing a gate. As if something very important had happened.
Akira: To avoid easy comparison different framing and angle of views were chosen, and also the size of the main figures. The shooting point also changed somewhat during that minute.
It was all shot with the Nikkor P auto 105/2.5 by the way.

John, thanks for elaborating the way you shot the series. That makes sense. To me, the first image looks the best. It is interesting that the main figure in #2 is captured right behind the one in #1.

Thanks Akira. Yes, it is in chronological order. The timestamps are:

The ones wearing earbuds are trying to avoid social interaction. It's very dangerous when crossing the street or walking on a bike & hike path.
