Title: D600 & 85 vs. D500 & 58
Post by: Frank Fremerey on January 26, 2017, 19:59:31
D600 & 1.8/85G vs. D500 & 1.4/58G both fully open

So which is which?

WB is different, framing is a bit different although I did not move, but I also did not use a tripod

Do you see the signature of either camera or lens?

I got plenty of frames for further comparsion, feel free to add your own, but please delete the EXIF

May be a 100% crop ?

Unfortunately I cannot tell which is which.  But one thing for sure is that to own both combo makes no sense!   ;D

Left one D600 is my guess (if they were taken with the same field of view over the whole sensor, i.e. either shorter focal length for the D500 or backed away position for DX). If it is from the same camera vantage point then the right one may be a crop from the D600.

In the second comparison, the left should be D500 and 58/1.4 combo: the bokeh of twigs is much smoother while the bokeh in the right one appears to be double-lined.

Same vantage point. Both Ilkka and Akira are right.

Possesing both makes a lot of sense to me. I love the 85 on the D500 and the D600. The 58 flew in today and I can already say I love it!

The right one is clearly softer (pun?) and therefore must come from either the D500 or, more likely, the Neo-Noct.

Wrong as stated above. The left is the D500 & 1.4/58G. Warmer Auto WB, more contrasty, more detailed too.
