OK, here is someone who claims to have bought a used D810 in a garage sale for 200 US$, then bought a destroyed D5 for parts on ebay for 150 US$ and then --- with his advanced professional electronics and soldering skills -- replaced the memory board of the D810 with the memory board of the D5. He writes:
"Then i went to work on my D810 and removed the chips from that, and replaced them with the memory from the D5,, Now this was a long shot i was not sure if the camera would even turn on and work after this, but low and behold yeah the camera turned on and worked fine..
Not only that, when i put the camera in continuous shooting mode and full raw image quality for some reason the frames FPS rate increased to like 7 or 8 FPS not sure why that was effected but i'll take that.. and not only that, i was never able to over fill the buffer to make it start to bog down to catch up, i tested this holding the shutter button for over 4 minutes and it never slowed down one bit.. Now this was a major breakthrough for me, i was very pleased of the results, now i'm sure Nikon never expected some one to do this, because if they knew people may do this they would probably change the type of memory chip each camera takes, making it impossible to do.."

Frankly I do not believe a word, but he is a great story teller.

This qualifies as a "tall tale". No more and certainly no less.

Hey, Frank, it is 01. 04 today, not 04. 01! ;D

The sequence of digits depends of the local systems. So both arrangements of the date format are possible, but only one fits the content of the tale ...

Actually I was hesitating to decide which order would make sense correctly. :o :o :o

If he only would provide some evidence. Pictures, Videos, etc

It's all bunkum.
Starting with the D810 found for $210 at a garage sale. NOBODY would sell a used D810 at a garage sale for $210. These days people are savvy enough to look up re-sale values on Ebay or elsewhere.
Next -- Firmware supports electronics. D810 firmware just isn't going to work with D5 "chips" much less have an increased read rate!! Moreover, bottomless buffers are simply not a possibility in this world.
One could go on.....but why bother? Besides which, any Nerd worthy of the name would have documented the steps to share with others.
ADDED: The claimed frame rate of 7 frames/second creates in 4 minutes 1680 raw NEFs.
If 12-bit lossless compression is used, then the magic bottomless buffer has output
approximately 53 Gigabytes worth of files in that 4 minutes.
There, I've done the math!
Reference: https://photographylife.com/nikon-d810-buffer-size (https://photographylife.com/nikon-d810-buffer-size)
A typical D810 at 5 frames/second fills its buffer in 9.4 SECONDS with 47 12-bit lossless compressed raw NEF files.
Those 47 files are approximately 1.5 Gigabytes. So the memory buffer of the D810 which is probably defined in firmware cannot process more than 1.5 GB in 9.4 seconds.

Where can I learn to do this - oh wait - where can I find a garage sale - oh wait - course starts 1.4.2017

There is certainly a spring loose somewhere...

I do concede that artistry is involved here............
Because in Australia and NZ, such people are known as "bull shit artists". (LOL)

Okay, you posted the same comment on the original forum... ::)

No. I quoted you on the original forum.
And yes, Hugh_3170, I suspect a "bullshit artist". Admins there revealed several false identities of one who is working that forum for years and put another multiple bans on his current identities. A few days later this story pops up, but with different Email Address and different IP-Addresses, so either someone new or the same with new "digital clothing". I find it quite amusing, but many people find it very upsetting or annoying.

It has been warm like spring for a few weeks here, which makes the matter complicated. :o
-
It's more like this in my Norway now, ❄️☃️❄️, but the weather forecast is ☔️.
Wonder if these emojis work in the forum? :o
-
Yeah, it works. I wonder how you do that, but, hey, that's off-topic. ::) :P

The garage sale claim may be plausible... I know some dude who got a Canon 50/1 from an deceased estate sale for $350...
Oh and then a D5 for parts? For $150? Who is he kidding? D700 for parts can go for more than that. Not even one year, someone already managed to destroy a D5... yeah right....
And then replacing the buffer boards... I'm sure the firmware of the D810 would not allow that, it may even not recognise the chips on the board, let alone being able to communicate with it!
The person in question also showed absolutely 0 tangible evidence, it's all just words!
I have a unicorn in my d810.
