Taken several years ago at the local bird sanctuary. No special skill, just blind luck that they were flying in this formation. Nothing special in post processing, no effort to clean up the merge.
D4 850mm EFL, f/7.1 1/800
Always good to have a laugh, and to also appreciate the role that luck plays in our photos.
Cheers

Not sure what the odds on getting that shot are, but they've got to be vanishingly small. Well done!

We have a locally-famous golfer here who's motto is "the more you practise, the luckier you get".
It seems you have been practising a lot!

Thanks everyone for the comments.
Peter: The odd thing is, that I rarely take images of Canada geese, just too common of birds here. But the light was soft and flattering that day, and there was snow softening the trees in the BG, so I was at least keeping an eye on them. It is a direction I very rarely shoot there, because of the sun angle, but the soft light that day allowed me to shoot in almost any direction.
Bob: I will keep my eye open for the double headed eagle.
Cheers

I had to look twice to see if it was a composite, but you obviously pressed the shutter at exactly the right moment on this one ;D
