Title: Mission accomplished
Post by: elsa hoffmann on December 29, 2016, 21:38:32
Mission accomplished - until next time. Today's mission was to get the Carpenter bee in flight. Hopefully I can improve on my next tour  !

The last 2 photos were posted to put the first 2 in context

These Carpenter bees (Bumble bees) nest in a wooden structure which forms part of one of the buildings. How they know which hole (nest) belongs to them - only they know. Once they land on the "tree", they practically immediately dive into their hole - so it gets a bit impossible to capture them at this spot - as my one client tried  ;D  But I found a spot where they were feeding close by - and it was quite accessible.

Bees in flight are very difficult.
I have tried (a lot) and never gotten what I would call 'good' photos.
The first two are very good!  Well done!
