I took the D5 to a gymnastics competition to shoot some fast sports action with the 70-200/2.8 VR II on. Shot at 1/1000, f/2.8, ISO about 5000, group AF.

Very nice images!
I would have thought the back ground would be more out of focus at 2.8,,,

I visited your site and enjoyed the gymnastics images, but was knocked out by some of the wildlife.

Long time no see, Terje!
As you already proved with wildlife images, your reflex nerve shines here!

Thanks for your kind comment. Wish I had the opportunity to shoot gymnastics more frequently.

Thanks for your kind remark, Akira.
I have been very busy recently, but hope to get more time the upcoming year.

Very good images. D5 offers a lot of leberage when it comes to speed.

Thanks. Yes, in particular I find the D5 good at shooting long image series at 12 frames a second. Might eventually be doing some videos with it too.
