Nature is cruel, but predators hungry...
# Olios argelasius ♀
Df + 90mm apo lanthar. Led lighting.
-
Wow!
Where was that?
What happened next?
-
The spider is showing its underside (it is upside down) but we see the top of the earwig. I suspect a staged shot.
-
What happened next?
Thank, Anthony !
The earwig was bitten. But the spider didn't eat it.
I had put the earwig in the jar were I was keeping the spider (for further pictures) to observe what would happen. my camera was ready.
I guess the spider begun its hibernation but was still active with predatory behaviour.
More image will follow.

Thanks (Netr ?)
Well spotted ! ;)
It's indeed a staged shot, which is obvious.
I put the earwig in the presence of the spider to see what would happen. ;)

An earwig on a happier day. Nikon D810

Nice one, Michael !
I like its posture.
It seems American and European ones are shaped likewise.
-
Michael, this is a lovely addition to the theme started by Rosko
And the latest one seems to have more independence and attitude than I'd ever have credited these creatures with :)

A great picture Michael, its the first time I feel sympathy for these little creatures and I think it will change my attitude towards them !
