I would crop out the horizon and the tree to the lower right, or clone it out. Also, chroma noise is pretty heavy on the tree and is pretty ugly, I'd drop the shadows down to conceal it. Be careful when lifting shadows, bring in too much chroma noise and it degrades the image significantly. There is also a big cloning(?) smear in the lower left.

I think the first image's composition is more effective, though the tree being kept a silhouette in the second is a much better PP choice.

The first one has some issues in the sky, too much pp highlight recovery,,,

I kind of like the first one as a square with the bottom edge cropped to only include about the top 40% of the tree's crown. The lower part of the photo is not as strong, so I would cut it out.
Just a thought.
