A new way of looking at lenses with the dx d500, so far miss the wide end option, going with the ones i have in my collection some happy surprises anyhow.

Fons, I like the last one very much!
-
powerful geometry in the last one - it´s a great picture
-
The last one is mind blowing & I love the first one too!
Recommendations from your collection?
1.4/35 Ai-S ... superb
1.4/24 G ... extraordinary
Do you already own the 300PF? This one is a real gem
-
That fourth one is really nice.
I second the 300PF, a really nice light weight birding/travel setup and it works very well with the 1.4x TC III.
The new 16-80 should be a good (but expensive) walk-around.
-
Thank you for the responses, i have the 300/f4 afs, i was looking at the 16-80 but thats like €1100.
For now will have to do with what i got.

The 17-55/2.8 is an old DX classic very well suited for D500 use. It is, as far as I can ascertain, free of the annoying squeak associated with the 17-35.

You can get it much cheaper (€695,99), but I have no experience with this http://www.eglobalcentral.nl/nikon-af-s-dx-nikkor-16-80mm-f-2.8-4e-ed-vr-lens.html?gclid=CNWItLHCsNACFUEcGwod-3MIog (http://www.eglobalcentral.nl/nikon-af-s-dx-nikkor-16-80mm-f-2.8-4e-ed-vr-lens.html?gclid=CNWItLHCsNACFUEcGwod-3MIog)
A nice and cheaper alternatieve could be the older 16-85

I really like your series Fons - the last pictures is very strong.
At times I start to think about complementing the D750 with a DX body - mainly for the tele lens.
My FX lenses are the 20mm f/1.8, 24mm f/1.8, 35mm f/1.8, 60mm f/2.8 Micro, 85mm f/1.4 and 300mm f/4.0 PF.
The 24mm could be my everyday lens as 35mm FX is my most used lens - so is the 23mm f/1.4 on the Fuji.
I understand the 24mm really works well on the D500. Any recommendations are highly appreciated.

Beauty with the 17-35 with the dark-light contrast.
-
Thank you all, on the wide end you have choices with so called 3rd parties, like Sigma 8-16mm f/4.5-5.6 DC HSM, or Tokina 11-16mm (20mm) f/2.8 but i have no experience here.Anyone?
-
I am mostly using the D500 with the 12-24mm f/4 DX, the 55 mm F/2,8 AIS-Micro and the AF-S 80-400 f/4,5-5,6 mm VR and am satisfied with this combo.
Havent tried using the 17-35 mm f/2,8 so far (fortunately my sample is not squeaking - at least until now)
-
Sold my dx lenses with the d300 years ago, not thinking to reenter the world of the smaller sensor.
