When I was a kid my grandparents owned a cottage on Cliff Island out of Portland Harbor. Your photograph brings back good memories. I love the light and the composition.

I prefer this image to the image in your colourful "Lighthouse Sunrise" post.  I find this one to be more subtle in its nature and it shows off the lighthouse, house and buildings better and the rocks in the foreground are also more to my taste.

I ventured out in 30 below zero to get this one.

I really like image #1

#2 also very nice, the snow looks a bit blue/purple, the effort of going out in such cold did pay off

Personally I prefer the second posted image - although I also like the first one. Also the fact that the second one is a tad closer.

On the winter picture, there is a second lighthouse, which I cannot find on the first picture. Is it just out of scope ?

The vantage point is way different, compare the house in the two images,,,

I agree.  This image is your best presented here of this most delightful subject area.  Worth the cold start as Armando has noted.  Nice that the colours of the brick work,  roofs,  and sky all work well together.

Personally I prefer the second posted image - although I also like the first one. Also the fact that the second one is a tad closer.

I like both the images but second one may be a bit more.
The birds in the second image has made it even more interesting. D610 seem to operate quite well 30 below zero.  :D

The composited first image looks unnatural.

The apparent brightness of the water should be the same or less than that of the sky to be believable.
The colors are off as well.

The D610 did hold up well although I assure you I had to run back to the car ASAP.

From the shadows I see that #1 is a sunset and #2 a sunrise.
Well done
