I went on a scouting trip yesterday with a friend.
Seems the flying community is out in full force
The sugar birds were all over the show - and come as close as 5m.
Where there is a pincushion (Protea) there is a bird or 10. And since they are so territorial - you can park your butt and just keep going all day long in one spot.

Excellent Elsa. Love the second but the Frog and reflection is too cool. Sometimes Flower and Sunbirds think that they are Hummers ;)

Elsa, they are all gorgeous! With the frog leading the way

All are great, but especially the hammer being about to take off is wonderful.
I also like the fisheye-like pond shot with your new fisheye lens. :D

Thank you kindly for the comments! SO much to see!
Akira - it is a Cape Sugardbird - and yes I like the fisheye!! I need to play a LOT more though

very nice set elsa!... you should include EXIF perhaps?? looks like the second from the bottom is 16/2.8 fish??

thank you Bob !

Awesome set Elsa.
I like them all.

Nice! It looks like you are about to enter summer :) With all the winged action going on.

Thank you people. These were all taken in one of our Botanical Gardens on a bird outing. Went in search of the Cape Rock Jumper but they are in hiding (breeding apparently)
Shot these two - couldnt get far enough from them - our lenses wouldnt focus! Although they are wild birds - they are very inquisitive and come looking for food.
Cape Rock-Trush, male and female
-
last two - very nice.. sharp!

Thanks Bob :)
