Title: Rebirth of the world . . . .
Post by: David Paterson on October 25, 2016, 22:15:14
. . . at least, this was the thought running through my head as I viewed this primordial scene. And it seems appropriate in a week which has seen the disappearance, and rebirth, of our beloved Nikongear.

The mountain is Stobinian, shot from a distance of about 25km, with the D800 and 70-200/f4, cropped.

It really looks like the beginning of the planet Earth.
(you have some dust on your sensor)

I miss volcanoes. The "birth" was quite fiery... nice shot anyway. Another variant w/o the treetops would have been interesting, but you had no helicopter at hand...

Thanks, Jakov, and thanks too for the heads-up; I just never noticed those spots.

Thanks also to Airy - and you guessed correctly -  yesterday it was my wife's turn to use the helicopter . . .

A dreamscape. Did you meet fairies there?

The title enhances this already immersing image!

I miss volcanoes.

Well, only when they are not active... There are too many active ones in Japan now...
