Put on the old classic 'Apache' by the Shadows on the stereo and crank up the volume ...

I didn't know John Wayne to be a philosopher, but am obviously proved wrong.

Thank you, guys - so nice to have posts from four who were all here in May.

I often think of that week, and it is no exaggeration to say that I regard it as one of the high points in my entire life as a photographer.

The rhythm created by the line of trees is just fantastic!

Aw, Erik - you flatterer. But I like it!!

Akira - I have often looked at that line of trees, but it needs light coming from a particular to make them properly visible. That day the light was right but the lens was wrong - I only had  a wide-angle with me; this is a massive crop from the original.

LATER - sorry, that  was incorrect - it was shot with  my 70-200/4 and is heavily-cropped vertically, but only slightly horizontally.

That's exactly how to work, knowing when to go back to shoot it in a different way - Makes photography so much more fun!

Erik - you wanted to see more pixels - here is a similar crop, slightly different treatment, 1800px long.

The trees owe their elegance to that glowing background.
Fitting revisions in V.2

The second version is a treat!  I would need better and larger display or large print to appreciate any further improvement of image quality than this.   :o

#1 works better for moe. I like the contrasts which puts more emphasis on the tree line.
It must have been a spectacular view.

Very imaginative! Seeks a big print to hang on a wall.
