I was pleasantly surprised this morning to see a story on the front page of the New York Times about surfing in the sea around Unstad, Lofoten. Surfing in those cold cold cold waters!!! Makes me shiver just to think about it.
The article includes some lovely photos of one of my favorite places in the world. I would thoroughly enjoy another Nikongear meet-up there. ;D
The first panel is a video which you can skip by scrolling down.

This activity is familiar to many Norwegians yet - so far - mostly has gone under the tourism radar. I wonder how long that paradise situation will last after the NY article??
A sauna with nudity not allowed is very unusual though and a true cultural clash. It somehow defies the purpose.

Very nice pictures in the NYT article.

I wouldn't dare getting into such cold waters :)
